How much does a kite safari cost (and what is included)
A week on a yacht in the Red Sea costs EUR 1,250 per person in a twin cabin in 2026. Food, drinks, transfers and the beach crew are included. Kite gear, lessons, flights and the marine park fee are not.
A one-week kite safari from Hurghada costs EUR 1,250 per person in a twin cabin in 2026. That covers your cabin on the yacht, food and drinks, airport transfers and a crew that carries and pumps up your kite on the island. Kite gear, lessons, flights, the visa and the marine park fee are not included.
I've been on Mohamed's safari with Paradise Kitesurf several times, and what you end up paying comes down to 2 things: whether you bring your own gear and whether you need a course. The gap between a rider with their own kit and a complete beginner is EUR 600.
2026 price by cabin
The safari is 8 days and 7 nights. The price is per person and depends on where you sleep:
| Cabin | Price per person (2026) |
|---|---|
| Twin cabin, 2 beds | EUR 1,250 |
| Cabin with a double bed (for 2) | EUR 1,350 (+100) |
| TOP SEA VIEW suite with a double bed (for 2) | EUR 1,450 (+200) |
| Single cabin | on request |
Broken down, the base price is just under EUR 180 a night, with meals, drinks and the whole crew included.
The boat on the most recent dates, M/Y Hermes, had 12 cabins and only 2 of them were suites, so if you want one, say so when you first ask. The other cabins on the Hermes had 2 single beds. Whether a double-bed cabin is available depends on which boat runs your dates. The boat is chartered and confirmed together with the dates, so a later safari may run on a different one.

What's included
All-inclusive here covers almost everything to do with the boat and the islands:
- On board: a cabin with air conditioning, fridge, toilet and shower, full board 3 times a day as a buffet, snacks, soft and alcoholic drinks, and Wi-Fi.
- On the island: a beach setup with a tent, carpet, water, cold drinks and fruit. The beach boys carry and pump up your gear and help you launch and land. A rescue boat is on the water.
- For your gear: storage for kite and wing kit on the boat, a compressor and pumps.
- When you're not kiting: wakeboarding behind the boat, snorkelling and fishing gear.
- Getting there: airport - yacht - airport transfers.
The programme also has morning yoga, a crew that picks the spot by the wind and organises downwinders, and video coaching in the evening. Guests praise the food in their reviews: Daniela Kohnová wrote on the Paradise site (in Czech) that the cooking was excellent and vegetarians would be happy as well.
The beach help is the line on the price list that's easiest to overlook. On an island with nothing but sand and wind, launching and landing with the beach boys is a lot calmer, especially if you don't have a buddy with you.
What's not included
| Item | How much |
|---|---|
| Return flight to Hurghada | depends on dates and airport |
| Egyptian tourist visa | USD 30 |
| Marine national park and marina fee plus crew tips | Mohamed confirms the current amount with your dates |
| Travel insurance that covers kiting | depends on the insurer, recommended by the organiser |
| Personal expenses | up to you |
The safari price list still shows the old visa price of USD 25. The official Egypt e-Visa portal lists USD 30 for a single-entry tourist visa, and the Czech foreign ministry gives the same USD 30 for a visa on arrival in Hurghada from 1 March 2026.
With insurance, check that kiting is named in the policy. The organiser recommends cover for risk sports including kiting, and a standard travel policy without a sports add-on may not be enough.
According to the organiser, the boat only goes to Tawila, the most popular lagoon on the safari, by prior arrangement, because entry is charged. If you want to ride there, mention it when you enquire and ask what the entry costs.
Extras (2026 price list)
| Extra | Price |
|---|---|
| Full kite gear | EUR 300 / 6 days |
| Twin tip (the board) | EUR 60 / 6 days |
| Beginner course, 6 days intensive, gear included | EUR 600 |
| Refresher course 3 h | EUR 180 |
| Refresher course 6 h | EUR 330 |
| Private lesson | EUR 65 / hour |
| Diving, 45 min dive (2 dives) | EUR 50 |
| Massage 45 min | EUR 35 |
| Personal kite photos, on request | EUR 2 per photo |
The refresher is time with an instructor for people who have already done a course, and the price list doesn't say whether it includes gear. If you don't have your own, ask when you enquire.
What you'll pay in total
These totals cover only the safari and extras from the price list. Add flights, insurance, the visa and the park fee with tips on top.
| Your situation | Safari + extras (2026) |
|---|---|
| You ride on your own and bring your kites and board | EUR 1,250 |
| Your own kites, rented twin tip (board) | EUR 1,310 |
| You ride on your own but rent the full set | EUR 1,550 |
| You've done a course and want 3 hours with an instructor | EUR 1,430 + gear if needed |
| Complete beginner on the 6-day course | EUR 1,850 (gear is in the course) |
If you share a double-bed cabin with a partner, add EUR 100 each.
Renting the full set for EUR 300 makes most sense if you don't want to fly with a kite bag. With your own kites, which you know well, you'll ride the morning and afternoon sessions with more confidence.
Whether a safari works out cheaper or dearer than a week at a beach hotel depends on what you'd pay separately at the hotel: food, drinks, transfers, help on the beach. I compare the options in Kite safari vs kite camp vs beach hotel.
Is the onboard course worth it for a beginner
The EUR 600 course is the most expensive extra on the safari. It's 6 days of intensive teaching with gear, in shallow lagoons. If you want IKO certification, the organiser says you need at least 8 hours with an instructor, and it isn't included in the safari price.
In April 2024 we took 8 beginners with us on the safari. We spent the first 2 days on Geisum and the first day was tough. By the middle of the second day, everyone was riding. Don't take that as a promise that it'll go the same way for you: it depends on the wind, the instructor and how much you've done before.
A safari is most rewarding for people who can already ride on their own. A beginner can come, it's just fair to know what you're signing up for: while the more experienced riders head downwind from island to island, you spend your days with an instructor in the lagoon. Ask how many instructors are coming when you enquire. If I were a beginner, that's the first thing I'd ask. More on this in Kite safari for beginners: can you learn to kite there?
What to ask before you pay
The price list is clear, but a few things aren't in it. In my enquiry I'd ask:
- How much the marine park, marina and crew tip fee is for your dates.
- Which boat is going (it's chartered and confirmed with the dates).
- Whether a double-bed cabin or suite is still free, if you want one.
- What a single cabin costs, if you're travelling alone and want it to yourself.
- For the course, how many instructors are coming; for the refresher, whether gear is included.
- If someone who doesn't kite is coming with you, what price Mohamed charges for them. Non-kiters are welcome on board, but the price list doesn't show a separate price for them.
2027 prices and dates
All prices above come from the 2026 price list. The last 2026 date is 7-14 November. The 2027 dates haven't been published yet, and neither has a 2027 price list.
On the kite safari in Egypt page you can ask about space on the November trip or have the 2027 dates sent to you once they're confirmed. When they're out, they'll also be in Kite safari dates 2027. What a day on the boat and the islands looks like is in Kite safari Egypt: what to expect.
